Christian Dior: Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2011/2012

Now where do I start.
Christian Dior for many years kept its elegance and finery from the help of mastermind John Galliano. He sort of did what Karl Lagerfeld did when he took over as designer for Chanel, by keeping what was the signature look of the brand and kept its classics but created a new spin and revived it out of a black hole.

Now the loss of Galliano in my opinion has brought a black hole to Dior. The chic has more or less disappeared from its description, now this isn't always a bad thing but the new creative energy replacing this hasn't been well expressed and you could put these down a runway and takeaway the name of 'Christian Dior' and people wouldn't be able to guess who it is. 'Dior' is pretty nonexistent in this collection since Bill Gaytten has taken over.

The collection is pretty disgraceful and a poor effort. I think it has really damaged the brand. The music taste is not of Dior and there isn't any flow from one outfit to the other. A bit of clashing is always acceptable, but this is just a joke. It is nice as a change and the beginning from where Galliano left off. So far it is a mess but I must say that some of the items separately are beautiful but the styling is all wrong. Including the headpieces, hair and makeup. Not Christian Dior at all and a shame that this waisted energy has been put into a haute couture collection.
I really used to look forward to watching Dior's collections.
Now I just don't know what to think. Hopefully the next collection will be an improvement of some kind.

Fingers crossed.
J'adore
